We got our start in the Black Angus breed in February of 2001 with the purchase of 10 proven cows from Stevenson Angus in Montana. They had the largest purebred herd in North America and their herd is outstanding. They gave us our pick of all cows 9 years and older. We thank them for allowing us to start with such a solid base-cows with fertility and longevity and with soundness of feet and udders. Every cow had average production records of 100 or over for both weaning and yearling on their calves. The next fall we added some solid Canadian cattle-the top selling Belvin heifer and an excellent Magic Man daughter from Ebon Hill. We were really excited to be able to buy our top 2, and 5 of our top 6 picks from the Elmrose dispersal in Montana. We added high performing packages from Strykers and both Willabar dispersals including the Lot 1 cow. We have purchased embryo's from some of the best cows in Canada from Hamilton Farms, Miller Wilson, and Ebon Hill. We also bought some good cattle at the Ebon Hill dispersal. We won Reserve Grand Champion Bull at the Medicine Hat Bull Sale in both 2009 and 2010-the only 2 years we consigned.
